Luke Hunma and Jack Bond promoted to Associate Director

Jack Bond - 48.3

Luke Hunma - 48.3

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Luke Hunma and Jack Bond to the position of Associate Director at 48.3

Luke and Jack both joined 48.3 as Graduate Engineers in October 2012 and March 2016 respectively. They both initially completed the 48.3 graduate training programme, developing their knowledge base and technical skills by working closing with our major clients on their key projects. Today they are key members of our senior management team and lead the operational delivery of our technical services across the UK.

Luke became a Design Engineer in 2014 and later Design Manager in 2016 where his project management, organisational and commercial skills came to the fore as he was responsible for the management and delivery of our projects across the UK. Luke is well-liked by his colleagues, he’s dedicated and embodies the 48.3 values, which make him a fantastic role model for all our staff. In our employee awards voted for by his peers, Luke has won the award for 'most dependable' on multiple occasions.

In 2017 Luke joined the 48.3 Senior Management Team and became actively involved with the strategic planning and management of the business. He played a key role in growing the business from around 15 staff and £1.2m turnover, to our current 40 staff and £3.0m turnover. Luke is actively involved in both recruiting and onboarding our new colleagues whilst building and developing our culture. He actively works with our key clients on their major projects and has excellent relationships with many people in the industry, building trust over many years of consistent performance and delivery.

Luke said "I am delighted to be recognised for my hard work and dedication to the business. We have an excellent team here at 48.3 and I am excited to continue to help drive the team and the business forward to the next level. I would like to thank the management team for the opportunity and for believing in me."

Jack joined with a background in scaffolding and immediately hit the ground running. A year after joining he became a Design Engineer and then in 2017 became ‘Major Projects Design Engineer’ and led the design and technical delivery of the scaffolding and access at Tottenham Hotspur F.C.'s new stadium development. In 2018 Jack became a Team Leader in Redhill and then in January 2020 moved back to his native northeast to open our Gateshead office and step up into the role of Regional Manager.

As the company has grown over the past two years, specifically in the north, Jack’s role has developed into an Engineering Manager role alongside Luke. Jack is one of the most hard-working and committed members of staff in the business, his ‘sense of urgency' is unrivalled and this has driven his rise through the company. Jack lives and breathes our company values, and is a role model and inspiration to those around him.

Jack commented "As a former 48.3 Graduate Engineer, it truly is a privilege to be given the opportunity to take up the role of Associate Director. The last 7 years have been amazing, and it is fantastic to reflect on how far we have come.

This is an exciting time at 48.3 with a significant future workload and further plans for growth. I am looking forward to leading our teams to maintain technical excellence and ensure we continue our legacy as the UK’s leading scaffolding and TW design consultants".

Ben Beaumont, Managing Director of 48.3 and Richter Director added “It has been fantastic to see the growth and development of Luke and Jack over the years since they joined our business - they deserve all the success they have achieved and are a credit to themselves and 48.3.  Luke and Jack are the current success stories of the company's investment in our staff, committing to training and personal development across all aspects of the business such that we grow our future leaders and give people the opportunity to reach their full potential.  Luke and Jack are both part of the Richter Group Leadership Academy 2022 along with other colleagues in similar roles across the group. We are lucky to have Luke and Jack in our business and I am very much looking forward to continuing our work together to deliver our goals and grow the business over the coming years!".

Abouzar Jahanshahi, Managing Director of Richter and 48.3 Director added "Many congratulations to Luke and Jack, very well deserved without a single doubt. Having worked with both of them over the past few years, I have witnessed their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to delivering quality results every day, on each task at hand.  On behalf of the Richter Board of Directors, I wish them all the very best in their new roles and beyond.  Looking forward to seeing them driving 48.3 to achieve further inevitable success."

Here is what some of Jack and Luke's colleagues and clients had to say:

“Big congratulations to you Luke on the forthcoming 10-year work anniversary and indeed your new promotion at 48.3, it has been a pleasure to work with you over that time and see your career grow as it has, your professionalism and dedication doesn’t go un-noticed and we at TRAD wish you the best for the next 10 years and beyond!”

Peter McShane – Managing Director – Trad Scaffolding

"Luke and I started at 48.3 nearly 10 years ago. He has always been an incredibly hard-working and reliable person and friend.

He has a strong sense of responsibility which you see in the work he undertakes, often putting in the extra hours to ensure that the projects he completes are up to the high standard at 48.3. The same standards he has helped set and demonstrate to the 48.3 team and the rest of the wider industry.

He has been an integral part in developing and driving the team at 48.3, not with his words, but with the consistent effort that he displays day in and day out.

Jack joined the team a few years after we started... he again works incredibly hard and has been critical in the success of the northern business, both thoroughly deserve their promotions."

Michael Eager – Senior Design Engineer – PHD Access

"Jack is one of the most driven people I know, with a real passion for delivering a complete and comprehensive solution to some of the construction industry’s most challenging projects.

Luke is a born leader capable of managing large teams and projects simultaneously whilst ensuring that budgets and expectations are met on time, overcoming all challenges with a smile and a positive attitude."

Alex Kirk – Scaffolding Technical Authority and Scaffolding and Work at Height SME at Hinkley Point C for EDF

"Congratulations on your promotion Luke, well deserved and great recognition of both your commitment and ability to grow with 48.3. I still remember your first few weeks with 48.3 back in 2012/2013, coming into Gatwick Airport to meet me to look at a some design work, eating our Hot Cross buns and having no money to buy us a coffee, how time has flown.

I did have the pleasure of working alongside you for a year when I was at 48.3, watching you manage and motivate the design team, how you deal with clients ( Every client loves Luke) and playing such an important role in the senior management team was impressive and great to see. We will never agree on Football, you support the wrong team! All the best with your new position."
