The Story

48.3 News

Sadly summer is coming to an end but boy it’s been a busy one here at the 48.3 HQ!

It kicked off at the beginning of July with the 48.3 Summer Team Day out at Alton Towers with the guys enjoying a well deserved day out the office however it was heads down and back to the serious stuff for the rest of the summer, with an ongoing stream of exciting and new projects.

We were delighted to take on Connect Scaffolding as new clients providing them with design and technical support and to welcome back old clients,  GKR Scaffolding. After working extensively with GKR nearly three years ago its great to be offering our services again and working on some fantastic projects together. Some recent ones in Central London include Angel Court, Cartwright Gardens, The Bloomberg Building on Cannon Street and the Sky ‘Believe in Better’ Building in Isleworth.

The summer also saw us launch an extensive recruitment campaign for two Technical Design Draughtsmen. We advertised throughout the industry and had a fantastic response resulting in just over 250 applicants!

After a lengthy selection and interviewing process we are delighted to now announce that we have two new team members joining us on the 23rd September. Look out for our next news article to learn more about them!

Temporary Works Forum

We are also proud to announce that Ben Beaumont our Managing Director and Principal Engineer, has been appointed a Director of the Temporary Works Forum (TWf). Ben accepted an invitation to join the TWf as a Director in August and is looking forward to a greater role within the organisation. 48.3 have been member of the TWf since 2011.

The TWf aim is to encourage open discussion of any matter related to Temporary works, for the good of the industry overall. The group is open to anyone, individual or corporate, working within the industry and sharing this intent.

Ben added “I am very proud to be asked to join a group of leading engineers promoting best practice within our industry, some of the members are very highly regarded and have a wealth of experience in their respective fields. Working more closely with them will be a pleasure.

The aims and objectives of the TWf align closely with my own mission to raise standards, promote professionalism and increase competency in our own niche within the field of temporary works – scaffolding and scaffold design.”

And finally...  Ben is getting married this month to his lovely fiancé Anna! The 48.3 team wish them both the very best for the future and a fantastic wedding day!
